I am very impressed with your cartoon, but it looks to me like you may have cheated and enhanced the background colour with Photoshop! Am I right? I'm pretty good at spotting these things. *smiles*

If I didn't know better, I'd say you have an expert's Photo manipulation. I did change the background somewhat, just to give it more contrast. I could have done it one the paper but I need to start work on tomorrow's cartoon. ;o)

a smashing hand there sir! you'll have to give me lessons after the mangled mess I've just made of Gary Numans hands in my latest!

LOL. I'm glad you do. I wasn't too pleased with the hand. There's too much of it in an already pretty blank cartoon. But after drawing that Doorway to Heaven, I couldn't face any more crosshatching.

When do we get to see the Gary Newman? I've been over to your blog but it's still John Lydon.

your wish is my command sir! I'll scan him now - buggersmuddle hands and all. that'll teach me to be cocky and try and do it without pencilling it first....and it was all going so well....I'll pop him on the Catbook page as he's a Catbook picture really. give me five minutes....

Do you have an address for that? You have so many blogs that I've lost track of the cat page and I really want to see this mangled hand.

Urgh! I see what you mean. He looks like he's suffering from a spot of gout in his digits. It's not that bad but you know what I'd recommend: scratching it away with a scalpel or some whiteout fluid.

I'm drawing hands at the moment and do you know the bit I hate doing more than any other. The underside view of the fist. You know the bit when you close your first. It's the view from the side of your little finger curled up. I have to draw two of them in today's cartoon and it's driving me crazy!

I know exactly what you mean! I go bonkers trying to do hands in any kind of perspective - I normally end up googling a near match and drawing the bugger from that.
Yes- I'll be getting to work with the scalpel at lunchtime.
now now - what have we told you about the misuse of tippex? wags finger.....

I only use it once every two weeks or so if I've made a major mistake which I can't fix with the scalpel.

And I bet I'm not the only one... ;o)

Well - you know my feelings on the matter...
